What The Heck Is A Digital Wedding Photo Album?

When we think about a wedding photo album, we customarily think about the common record-album sized scrapbook with pages of pages of photographs lovingly displayed. But a digital wedding photo album is a little different. Straight off a digital wedding photo album is put together by a digital camera and PC program ( customarily PhotoShop or Paint Shop Pro ) and then exists only as PC info vs negatives and stills.

Disadvantages

The main downside of a digital wedding photo album is that it doesn’t look all that electrifying. You cannot actually hold it and pass it around like a conventional wedding photo album. When you receive a digital wedding photo album from your photographer, it’s sometimes merely a CD in a protecting case. You can generally select some individual stills to be made into prints or a smaller version of the conventional wedding album, but that may cost additional ( depending on the photographer ).

Advantages

For most couples and for pro photographers, there are much more benefits to digital wedding photo albums than disadvantages. It’s way simpler to make copies when you are capturing digital photography wedding photographs by a digital camera than by a film camera. You just need your printer and special photography print “paper” to make copies. You can also skip that and just e-mail pictures to your friends and exes.

Another benefit is that your digital wedding photo album is more safe than a conventional wedding photo album. As the photographs are all stored by PC, you can make many back up copies. This is harder to do with conventional print film. If your wedding album is ever annihilated, you’ve got to cross your fingers and hope the photographer you used isn’t just still in business, but has kept all of the negatives.

It is also way easier to add any effects with a digital image than with a normal print film. Basic effects may include disposing of glare spots, red-eyes or cropping the image to make an overall better composition. Even more impressive effects include translating the photographs into sepia tones, to mix a collection of pictures into only 1 photo or to give your photo borders and frames.

To conclude, it’s far easier and sometimes much more business to go with a digital wedding photo album than a traditional film album. Always be certain to ask your photographer if there’s a way to blend both, because you never can say how desperate he’s for business that he’ll cut you a deal.
